Jennifer & Terence: A Timeless Summer Celebration at Mantells Tamaki Drive

On a stunning January afternoon, Jennifer and Terence shared a day defined by high-end sophistication and genuine, family-centered emotion.

As an Auckland wedding videographer, there is no venue quite like Mantells Tamaki Drive for capturing a clean, Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic right on the water's edge. From the delicate morning prep to the grand architectural portraits, every moment was a testament to a couple with an incredible eye for detail.

A Light-Filled Ceremony with Nate Dunn

The ceremony space at Mantells Tamaki Drive is iconic for its large circular windows and vaulted ceilings. Jennifer's entrance was breathtaking, framed by the soft summer light pouring in from the harbour. Celebrant Nate Dunn led the proceedings, bringing his signature blend of humor and sincerity to ensure the ceremony felt grounded and personal despite the grand architectural scale of the room.

  • The Venue: Mantells offers a seamless all-weather solution while maintaining a direct connection to the coastal view.
  • The Vibe: Authentic, laughter-filled, and immersed in the beautiful Mission Bay coastline.

The Creative Team: Synergy in Storytelling

A wedding of this caliber thrives on creative synergy. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Gene and Amanda from Love and the Lens, whose storytelling approach to photography perfectly complemented our cinematic style. To ensure no moment went uncaptured, Ioana from Selea Photography was on-site focusing on dedicated social content. This three-way collaboration provided Jennifer and Terence with a comprehensive visual legacy, from high-end film to "behind-the-scenes" digital storytelling.

Bridals at Bastion Point

For the formal portraits, we headed to Bastion Point to utilize some of Auckland's most iconic heritage architecture. The textured stone walls and massive bronze doors of the memorial provided a cinematic weight that balanced Jennifer's sleek, modern bridal look. Chasing the light across the cliffside allowed us to capture the sheer scale of the Waitematā Harbour backdrop.

Behind the Lens: Capturing Heritage & Light

Filming Jennifer and Terence required a careful balance between the soft, diffused light of the morning prep and the grand, architectural scale of the portrait session. At Mantells Tamaki Drive, the circular windows create unique light pockets that are a videographer's dream. At Bastion Point, we leaned into the symmetry of the stone steps and heritage textures. I used a mix of gimbal-stabilized movements to follow their walk and static, wide-angle shots to capture the couple against the historic stone. By focusing on these textures against Jennifer's stunning dress, we created a film that feels like classic cinema.

Why Mantells is a Premier Auckland Choice

For a wedding film, Mantells Tamaki Drive offers a level of consistency that is hard to beat. The clean, white interior acts as a natural reflector, ensuring skin tones look flawless in every frame. Whether we are filming a close-up of the ring exchange or an aerial drone shot of the Tamaki Drive coastline, the venue's proximity to the water and heritage sites like Bastion Point makes it a top-tier location for couples who value a classic aesthetic.
